Dear AIA Member,
With the November elections fast approaching, you have an opportunity to vote for candidates who are responsive to your needs. At the federal level, the entire U.S. House of Representatives and one-third of the U.S. Senate are standing for reelection. Numerous races are going on at the state level, including 36 gubernatorial races. To encourage AIA members and their employees to vote, the AIA is partnering with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on a bipartisan political program, www.ArchitectsVote.com .
The site is filled with useful information. Through www.ArchitectsVote.com , you can register to vote, learn about candidates for state and federal offices, and obtain absentee ballot information. The site also contains a link to the AIA's Government Affairs website at www.aia.org .
The site requires you to enter your name and address but this information will not be shared or released by the AIA or the U.S. Chamber; instead, it is used to link to your state, district, and local voter information.
We encourage you to participate in this year's elections and spread the word about www.ArchitectsVote.com to your colleagues and employees. The AIA urges you to exercise your right as a citizen of this country to vote. Please take advantage of www.ArchitectsVote.com as a resource to help you access the voting booth this November. Remember, your vote can make a difference!
Respectfully,
Kate Schwennsen, FAIA
